Introduction
My name is Shoaib Ahmad and I am a software engineer. Before reaching this point, there were many ups and downs in my life — I did several jobs, started many small and big
businesses. But no work ever gave me that peace, that satisfaction which I was seeking in my true destination.
I started working from a very young age. When I was just 13 years old and studying in 9th grade, I learned and worked in mobile repairing at a shop. Even after working for about 1.5 years, I was only getting ₹1,000 per month. By that time, I had reached class 10th and my needs were increasing.

After that, through an acquaintance, I went to a small company named "Art Vatika", where raw materials of candles, perfumes, and shampoos were sold, and their online classes were conducted. My job there was to clean, do the packing, and everything else that happens in a lower-level job. They promised me a salary of ₹9,500 per month. The job was small, but I had to continue my studies, so I said yes.
Initially, I felt hesitant because there were girls working too, and I had never done cleaning or mopping jobs before, but gradually I adjusted. After three months, I got used to it and then I started developing interest in the computer work there. Slowly, I also learned to make candles and perfumes there. When the guy who used to do label designing didn’t show up, I applied for it myself and successfully took over the task — which also led to an increase in my salary.

While working, I felt that now I should start something of my own. I started a small business of buying and selling second-hand mobile phones. The profit was good, and I opened my mobile shop in the village. I ran the shop for two years and also made and sold LED bulbs, but due to lack of technical facilities in the village, the business couldn’t grow further. Then I worked as a delivery boy in Flipkart, Amazon, and Meesho to bear my study expenses.
During that time, my health severely deteriorated, and my whole body caught an infection. My parents called me to Delhi, where I got treatment and resumed my studies. I completed many courses and diplomas here like MBA, ITI, Ethical Hacking and Cyber Security, Web Development, etc. Today, my age is 23+ years.

After completing all my education, I did a normal job in a small company for 6 months because I needed a stable income. Then my Software Engineer result came — and the same day, I said goodbye to that job.

Today is a very special day for me. I have quit my old job today. I was just doing a normal job — in which I neither found any happiness nor any passion. I was doing it only because there was nothing in my pocket, and life had to be somehow managed. But now I want to do something on my own. Today, I have completed my studies to become a software engineer, and now I neither need that job nor did it give me happiness. When there is no interest in the work, staying in it also becomes a burden. Now I am going to walk on a new path — on my own path.

For the past two months, I’ve been freelancing, and today a new idea came to my mind. I was with my friends, and we were talking about games. I never had any interest in games, but today when I explored the world of gaming on the internet, I was amazed. It was far beyond anything I had ever imagined. That’s when I decided — this is what I want to work on now. And from that very moment, I began.

Last night, I kept thinking all night why there isn’t any game in the gaming industry based on India’s own culture, thoughts, and stories. I watched over 200 news articles and YouTube videos throughout the night — from e-sports to game development. In the morning, I called my most trusted friend Roshan and said, "Brother, I have an amazing idea." He believed in me so much that he quit his job right then and said — "Now we will do this."

We started planning the game — “What all needs to be done, how it will be done, where we will begin from?” We worked on it non-stop for 6 months. During this time, our idea changed 7–8 times. Initially, we were building a normal game and felt it was quite good. But when we looked at the industry level, we realized our idea actually seemed 5 years outdated.
After that shock, we threw ourselves into research — played over 500 games, some offline some online. Now we had a strong and fresh game idea. All we needed was to bring it to the world — and for that, it was time to build a professional website and make it live.

We had been working continuously for the past 7–8 months, but two of the biggest challenges stood in front of us:
1. A powerful and unique game idea
2. The name of the game
To be honest, the second challenge — finding the game’s name — was driving us crazy. Every name we thought of either had a copyright, the domain wasn’t available, or it just didn’t have the right feel. It felt like trying to scoop out a spoonful of water from an ocean.
But then, at exactly 3:33 AM, a shining idea struck — "Nexus"
For the first time, it felt right, but still, something was missing. Then we added "Battlefield"… and it became:
"Nexus Battlefield"
Now, we had to design a logo. We explored tons of online resources to create the perfect logo.
Next step — it was time to go all-in on the website.

I started building the website. Money was tight — so I chose the path of free hosting and domain. We had played over 500 games —
many of them were free, so I decided to launch my website for free too. Now, I spend 24/7 just working on the website.

Our website had gone lives — even though it was just a single page, it was the first doorway
to our world. I thought, “I’ll keep updating it slowly, and it will get better and better.”
I was so excited that I shared the link with my friends and family. But then, a wave of disappointment hit me.
I realized that the website was not just a page; it was a reflection of my hard work, my dreams, and my passion.
I wanted it to be perfect, but it felt like a rough draft. I had to make it better — and fast.

Today, I completely deleted my old website and created a newly updated one.
Believe me, it looks so good that it made me really happy.
Now, I just need a .com domain.
Image 8
Date: 05/01/2025
Today, I felt both laughter and sorrow.
All of us friends tried collecting ₹50, ₹100, and ₹20, but we didn’t even have ₹1,
We earned ₹500 by playing an online game, but the domain cost was ₹939.
It felt like everything had stopped… but hope was still alive.

And today… We have acquired nexusbattlefield.com — the first step towards our dream.
I can’t express how happy I am. It’s like a dream come true.
I never thought I would be able to buy a domain, but today, it’s a reality.
I’m so grateful to everyone who supported me.
Our website is now fully live.

Today is my birthday. But this time, no cake, no party. Just fever, pain, and incomplete sleep. Still, I decide to go to the India Gaming Show.
I had been waiting for this day for a long time. I wanted to see the world of gaming, meet new people, and learn from them.
I wanted to see how far the world of gaming has come and where I need to reach.
I wanted to see the latest technology, the best games, and the most talented developers.
I wanted to see the future of gaming. But my body wasn’t cooperating. I was sick, and my fever was high.
I was in pain, and I couldn’t sleep. I was worried that I wouldn’t be able to go. But my heart said — “I have to go.”
My body isn’t cooperating, but my heart says — “I have to go… to see how far the world has come… and where I need to reach.”

I decided to sell my old computer to build Nexus Battlefield on a new system.
I had been using it for a long time, and it was time to upgrade.
Someone offered ₹20,000.
I felt a bit doubtful, but my heart said, "Just do it… we’ll deal with whatever happens."
Image 8
Date: 29/02/2025
I gave the computer away. Received only ₹6,000.
I was shocked. I had to pay ₹20,000 for the new system, but I only got ₹6,000.
He said he would pay the rest slowly. I accepted it too. My dream is bigger than letting these few rupees scare me.
Image 9

I asked for money from many places — some turned their backs, some helped with ₹5,000–₹10,000.
Someone didn’t even answer the call when I asked for ₹20,000. But those who stood by me — they’ll be remembered for life.
Image 8

Arranged ₹40,000 and went to buy the computer, but the money fell short.
Couldn't get the computer. The heart broke, but not the determination
Image 9
Date: 25/03/2025
The person I sold the computer to is now refusing to pay the remaining ₹10,000.
I called him and said, "Brother, please pay the remaining amount." He said, "I’ll pay you later."
I said, "Okay, but please pay me soon." He said, "I’ll pay you when I can."
I said, "But I need the money now." He said, "I can’t pay you now. I’ll pay you later."
I said, "Okay, but please pay me soon." He said, "I can’t pay you now. I’ll pay you later."
He says — "Take what I gave, or take the computer back."
I took the computer back and decided to stand on my own feet through freelancing. Got a website project and received ₹3,000 in advance. But suddenly, Ammi fell seriously ill, and ₹40,000 went into her treatment.

The computer I had bought with so much difficulty — caught fire today. Everything came to a halt.
People I owe money to are now pressuring me.
I went to buy a new laptop, but didn’t have enough money. Now the work is stuck right there.

I was freelancing. There was some hope, some work going on...
But suddenly, everything stopped. Even the project
I was counting on came to a halt. Now I don’t know what to do, where to go... But I’m not someone who gives up.
I started coding on my phone. Did whatever I could.
I just want to create something, to prove myself.
I want to show the world that I can do it.
I want to show the world that I can create something amazing.
I want to show the world that I can create something that will change the world.

It’s been 9 days now — no proper sleep, no proper meals. I’m locked in a room with just my phone. I’m coding, coding, and coding. I’m working day and night, trying to make my dreams come true.
I’m working hard, but I’m not getting the results I want.
Coding through sleepless nights, Waking up every morning with tired eyes to try again.
My body is giving up, my mind is exhausted… but I haven’t stopped. I feel alone — but I know, My dreams are still alive.

It’s 12:41 AM — a new day has just begun.
I have insomnia — a condition that keeps me awake. There’s a cigarette in my hand, and I’m thinking
Creating a game is so hard, and yet when a player plays it, they easily criticize every flaw. What they don’t see is that maybe the game they’re playing now was imagined by someone
a year ago. That someone worked on it for 5 years, poured in all his effort, marketed it, advertised it...
And when it finally reached the players — it got rejected for not being “good enough.” I’ve played 500+ games — online and offline.
I’ve judged many games. I’ve learned a lot. I read books — Unreal Engine, Blender… There was a time I didn’t even know their names.
In 6 months, I learned Blueprint Programming. Call it my craze or my victory — but within 6 months, I learned everything needed to make a game.
But life brings people to a point — where they fall into depression. And today, I’m standing at that very point.
I’m stubborn. When I start something, I can’t rest until it’s done. And I know — whatever I do, I want it to be different. Two things are on my mind —
Starting a side business, and completing this game. How I’ll do it — I don’t know. But I will.

It’s 3:55 AM. I’ve already finished two books tonight. And these books taught me a lot.
First Book — The Lean Startup (By Eric Ries): It showed me how innovation is possible even without huge resources, and how failure is the most important teacher when starting a game or business
Second Book — Blood, Sweat, and Pixels (By Jason Schreier): It revealed the effort, sleepless nights, and emotional struggles behind every big game we play — and how the journey of a creator is never easy
These books taught me this — A real dream is the one that breaks your sleep. And true hard work is the one that’s bigger than exhaustion. Today I understood this too — The world only sees the finished product, not the truth hidden behind it. No one sees the nights you stayed awake, the moments you silently gave up, and how you still stood up again the next morning. Everyone wants results, but they run from the process. I also feel now — Those who chase dreams never sleep. And those who love sleep — only live others’ dreams. Whether the game gets completed or not, I won’t give up. Because this is not just a battle of coding and creation — this is the biggest war I’m fighting against myself.

Right now, it's 2:55 in the night. I have a cigarette in my hand, but the matchbox is empty. I was doing research related to startups. Global Startup Insights: Approximately 837,000 startups are launched daily worldwide. Out of these, nearly 90% fail within 10 years. In India, by 2024, more than 1.57 lakh (157,000+) startups were active. Out of these, around 80% shut down within 5 years. By the year 2025, more than 1,565 unicorn companies have been established globally.
Just like my matchbox is empty right now, thousands of companies across the world shut down every single day. The reasons can be — failed ideas, dried-up funding, or broken support systems.
Today, I read three startup/business-based books. Somewhere in India right now, there must be countless people working on startup ideas. Someone must be building a plan, someone writing a website, someone preparing a pitch deck, someone talking to investors, someone just waiting — for a single chance to prove themselves.
Some must be working on game development too — someone designing, someone coding, someone trying to create a game that could become India’s identity in the gaming world.
I am one of them. My Game Project: Nexus Battlefield This is a complete game development project. Currently, I’m working on it alone.
My Current Financial Status (as of 11/05/2025): Total Bank Accounts: 5 Total Balance: ₹0 (Not even ₹1) Current Funding Status: Zero (Self-Funded Research Phase) Estimated Project Valuation: ₹10 Crore+
What I'm Working On:
Game Design Document (GDD)
Game Concept and Story
Gameplay Design
Weapon Mechanics
Map and Character Systems
Programming based on Indian context
Game balancing and skill development
Game testing and bug fixing
Game optimization and performance
Game marketing and promotion
Game monetization and revenue generation
Game launch and post-launch support
Game updates and expansions
Game community building and engagement

Even though there's not even ₹1in my bank accounts, I'm working on a project whose value is not less than ₹10 crore. This game is entirely based on data, analysis, and creative development. It is not driven by mere motivation or emotion, but by a solid vision, a grounded idea, and continuous research.

Today, I've reached a place I never wanted to be. Maybe I never even imagined that life would bring me here.
You might be thinking I’ve gone to a good place — but it’s nothing like that.
I’m at a point where no one ever wants to be. Depression. Pain. Struggle. Stress. I’m completely broken... from within.
Today marks the fourth time I went out to get a laptop or computer — and just like every other time, I came back empty-handed.
It’s around 6:26 PM right now, and I’m not home... I’m outside.
Why? Because I don’t have the strength left to say anything anymore. I just stepped out to distract myself for a while. I don’t know what keeps going wrong. When I don’t have money, I wish I did. And when I do have money, some other problem shows up.
Today was just like that. I received ₹10,000 in advance from a client.
I also had some money saved up.
The plan was simple — I’d go, get a laptop on EMI, and finally start building my game. It truly felt like a dream was about to come true. But maybe God had other plans.
All my cards are blocked. I can’t buy anything. When I was eligible to buy, I had no money. And now when I finally have the money, the situation refuses to cooperate.
This was the fourth attempt — just to get a computer or laptop for myself, and once again, I returned empty-handed. Now I’m left with just two options: Either stop working on my game for now, and just continue with freelancing...

Or leave everything and settle for a regular job.
